Chumbe Island Coral Park Resort
Chumbe Island
Chumbe Island is a small paradise and is located in the archipelago of Zanzibar, south of Stone Town. Tanzania's first marine park, it boasts an extraordinary richness from a natural marine point of view: 200 types of corals, 370 species of fish and dolphins that often swim nearby in search of food. It owes its integrity to the fact that for a long time this area was closed to locals and tourists because it was included in a military area. There is still a lighthouse and a mosque dating back to the beginning of the 20th century. The luxury lodge Chumbe Island Coral Park manages the (private) marine reserve and offers hospitality in seven very particular eco-bungalows integrated in the landscape. The lodge is attentive to respect for the environment and is engaged in forest and coral reef conservation projects. He also deals with projects for school-aged children.
