Day 2 - Murchison Falls National Park
After breakfast, we will leave in a North-West direction towards the Murchison Falls conservation area, the largest in Uganda, which will give us wonderful landscapes of acacia savannah in the North and tropical forests in the South. During the journey we will stop at the Ziwa reserve for an extraordinary experience: walking alongside the rare white rhinos that this important conservation project brought back to Uganda. Lunch at the restaurant. After crossing the city of Masindi we will enter the Murchison Falls National Park and, after about 6 hours by road, we will arrive in the center of the park for dinner and overnight.
Day 3 - Murchison Falls National Park
At dawn we leave for our first safari in search of the wild animals that inhabit the Murchison Falls National Park. The savannah here is beautiful, full of trees and animals; we will be able to meet lions, giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, numerous species of antelopes and an infinite variety of colorful birds. We will reach the Nile, the largest African river, where it flows into Lake Alberto: Uganda is very rich in water and the habitats are varied and lush. Return to the lodge for lunch.
In the afternoon our safari will continue by boat: we will go up the Nile to the base of the falls and from the river we will be able to spot hippos, crocodiles, elephants, antelopes and, as always, many species of birds. Short walk to the "Top of the Falls", the top of the falls, to admire the power of the water that roars in the gorge of only 7 meters before descending into the Albertina Rift Valley with a jump of 43 meters. Dinner and overnight in the park.
Day 4 - Trekking of the chimpanzees in the Budongo forest
Early in the morning transfer to the Budongo forest, at the eco-tourism site of Kaniyo - Pabidi, for the trekking (minimum age 14 years) that will take us to meet the chimpanzees in their natural habitat, the tropical forest. Years of preparatory work in the field by the Jane Goodal International Institute allows us today to get closer to these incredibly human-like mammals. The forest is also home to other primates such as black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, vervets and baboons. Lunch at the restaurant or packed lunch.
In the afternoon we will visit the Boomu Women Group association or the Kapega Association consisting of rangers guides who have been working in the forest for years. We will meet the peaceful and hardworking Ugandan people to get to know how people live and how their homes are, also tasting the local cuisine. Dinner and overnight in Hoima.
Bugoma Forest Conservation Campaign: the Bugoma forest, with its 400 square km of protected extension along the Rift Valley near Lake Alberto, is located south of Hoima. It is precisely the agency with which we collaborate that in 2013 launched a conservation campaign for the protection of the forest and for the protection of chimpanzees, and it is with pride that we invite you to support the ongoing initiative "The Chimpanzee go!" which has three objectives: the reforestation of degraded areas; strengthening compliance with the law against illegality; incentives to private individuals who are close to the forest to maintain forest cover areas in their lands.
Day 5 - From Hoima / Bugoma to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After breakfast, a long journey (6-8 hours) will take us to the "pearl" of the Ugandan National Parks, Queen Elizabeth: second in Uganda in size, it is bordered on the east by Lake George, on the west by Lake Edward and on the north by the chain Rwenzori mountain range. We will cross forests, cultivated hills and splendid panoramic points along the Albertina Rift Valley and the Rwenzori Mountains chain to the town of Kasese. Arriving at the park in the evening game drive along the way. Dinner and overnight in the park.
Day 6 - Queen Elizabeth National Park
Departure at dawn for a photographic safari along the paths north of the park to spot lions, the rare leopard, herds of elephants and buffaloes, the spotted hyena and the Ugandan cobi. The views of the park and the sweetness of these lands will not fail to arouse your amazement. The quantity of hippos, buffaloes, elephants and varieties of birds that you can admire during the boat trip on the Kazinga canal is also incredible. In the evening photographic game drive while moving in the Ishasha sector of the park. Dinner and overnight in Ishasha.

Day 7 - Ishasha - Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
The Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park is famous for the presence of lions who, during the hot hours of the day, have the habit of climbing fig trees to rest and seek refreshment. This will be our destination in the morning safari. After lunch at the lodge, in the afternoon we will continue (5-8 hours) towards the southern region of Uganda, a mountainous plateau where there are tropical forests that host mountain gorillas, or the Bwindi Impenetrable park, at 2300 meters altitude. The lodge in Bwindi is chosen based on the trekking area.
Day 8 - Trekking of the mountain gorillas
Still in the dark we will leave to reach the headquarters of the UWA (Uganda Wildlife Authority) where we will meet the other members of the expedition as well as the guides and porters for the gorilla trekking. A long process of familiarization with the human presence will allow us to remain an hour a few meters from these kind and wonderful primates. The trek takes place in small groups of maximum 8 people for each gorilla family. The Bwindi forest has a population of over 420 gorillas according to the census conducted in 2012. The time taken and the terrain traveled to meet the gorillas can vary. You must bring enough water and a packed lunch with you and you can take advantage of the help of the porters. A good physical shape is recommended. Dinner and overnight stay just outside the park.
Day 9 - Bwindi - Entebbe
After breakfast the journey back to Kampala begins (about 8 hours). Stop along the way for lunch and in the African craft markets where, along the road to the capital, you will find many interesting handicrafts, absent from the rest of the circuit. And finally transfer to Entebbe International Airport for evening return flights.
