Day 1. Dar es Salam
Arrival at the airport and meeting your guide. Guided tour of the city. Discover the heart of Dar es Salaam by visiting the fish market: boats forever arriving or setting out to sea, enormous pans steaming with fish freshly caught and cooked in mouth-watering spices, stalls brimming over with multi-coloured fish and city dwellers jostling for the best bargains of the day
Day 2. Mikumi NP
We'll take the road south across the fertile fields near Morogoro, and by early afternoon reach the small park where we'll go on a game drive. Although Mikumi does not have a huge area open to visitors, it still offers a wealth of opportunities to see a whole variety of different animals including: lions, elephants, buffalo, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes, gazelles, antelopes, hippopotamuses, and crocodiles
Day 3. Udzungwa Mountains NP
Setting off at dawn for the totally green Udzungwa Mountains. Then on foot as it's the only way through the thick vegetation. The effort is paid off though with the incredible natural beauty of the rainforest, its wonderful panoramas and singing cascades. It's really up to you how much you want to walk but the slopes are the perfect place for those passionate about both trekking and botany. Udzungwa Mountains offers a whole host of endemic plants as well as 10 different species of primates.
Day 4. Transfert
The day is taken up by a long transfer (12 hours) spanning distances of southern wilderness till we reach the immense Selous Game Reserve. This protected area is as large as Switzerland and, along with Mikumi National Park, is listed as a World Heritage Site due to the fact that it boasts the largest number of mammals on the planet.
